Draenor and Eternium

Outland used to be Draenor, ergo anything on Outland likely existed on Draenor in some form. That a level 70 mineral can't be mined from a level 90-100 continent (and one that was current when this story was playing out, to boot) should not be taken as lore that eternium does not exist on Draenor, especially since fel iron, adamantine, and eternium can all be found on Quel'Danas. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:11, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Much in the same vein as the fact that gold is used as currency world and dimensionwide even though it's only found in low level zones. PeterWind (talk) 19:16, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
I was thinking of it more like Kryptonite, which appeared only after/because of Krypton (Draenor)'s destruction. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 21:51, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Possibly, but in the same vein I've heard the theory that the Molten Eternium Sea was an underground lake on Draenor that bubbled to the surface as eternium ore after the planet exploded. It's ultimately speculation to explain what's probably purely a gameplay mechanic of level-specific mining nodes, compounded on top of the speculation of where the sea is...
It's really just easier to keep it simple and say Outland (because source of eternium) and/or Draenor (because pre-Outland) than to load it down with additional caveats to explain ancillary speculation like the origins of eternium. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:02, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Definitely. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 00:42, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
