Talk:Magocrats

I do not dislike this page. However, I think that magocrat is a word for a member of the Kirin Tor-as-senate. The Six were originally the secret leaders of this senate. In WotLK, the Six became the public leaders of the Kirin Tor, which became viewed not as the government of Dalaran, but as Dalaran as a faction. There is a lore reason for this later shift, but I do not think that the magocrats were ever a separate era.--SWM2448 19:01, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- However, the Magocrats were there long before the Kirin Tor. In fact, the Kirin Tor began as a sect dedicated to research and catalogue magic; the same function it has when Antonidas was 12 and a Ruling Council (the Six) was in charge of the city.
- We don't know when did the KT turn from a research sect into the Magus Senate that it is today. --Cemotucu (talk) 19:13, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- I know. Dalaran was described as a "thriving magocracy" under the rule of the Magocrats. The form of government (magocracy or rule of the magi) is the same, but the rulers changed (even when all can be considered magocrats). First there were lord archmagi, then a Ruling Council, then a Senate AND a Ruling Council. See the difference? --Cemotucu (talk) 12:52, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
