Ardenweald

re: ardenweald speculation (moving to talk page so as not to start an edit war).

the core of the greatfather winter legend is that he brings the season of winter by blanketing the land in snow. while i do think the bit about hodir being a "father figure" is pretty weak, at the very least hodir satisfies the big point of... being a giant man with a strong relation to snow and ice. it's perfectly believable that early mortals may have seen him and thought he was the bringer of winter

ardenweald, on the other hand, has no solid relation to the actual season of winter. its comparisons to autumn and winter are a reference to the cycles of life; death is the winter of your life. the winter queen is a queen of death.

heck, i don't think ardenweald even has any snow. it's just the emerald dream but for spirits. —Eithris (talk) 20:42, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
