Question

Someone told me that warriors and rogues can't downrank. Can someone please tell me wether this is true and why? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Banana Blaster (talk · contr).

True. Warriors/Rogues have a fixed power pool. Ranks tend to cost the same amount since they're pretty much always going to be stuck at a cap of 100 rage/energy. It's not like casters where we can cast rank 1 Frostbolts for ~25 mana if we want. --k_d3 22:57, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I knew that. But what I meant was, is it posible for them to use lower ranks? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Banana Blaster (talk · contr).

I don't think so, no. Don't forget to sign your posts on talk pages with 4 tildes (~~~~). --k_d3 23:05, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Ok, thanks fer answering my question Banana Blaster 23:08, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Yea, you can't use lower ranks cause bliz have the abilities automatically replace the last one, in your spell book. So you really don't have the option, which is fine cause like said before me, you use the same amount of energy/rage...why bother using a lower rank. WotLK

Downranking has been changed such that lower spells will cost the same amount of mana as the maximum spell. The mana cost in general is now a percentage of base mana for all ranks of a given spell. This change has been implemented in patch 3 and changes to this page will certainly be necessary. In fact, one might even consider removing this page. Perhaps though it couldn't hurt to keep this as a record of what downranking used to be, with a note that it is no longer used. ddcorkum (talk) 15:40, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

We generally tag removed items with {{removedfromgame}} and subsequently remove them from their categories. I suggest updating this page to note the fact it no longer exists as well as noting the history of downranking; ie, that Blizzard has continually moved to remove it since it came into popular usage after AQ came out. --Sky (t · c · w) 02:36, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
