Chris Metzen's Responsibilities

I've cleared it up cause some things needed to be addressed. Chris Metzen had very little involvement with the storylines of the Blizzard franchises before WarCraft III. WarCraft III itself was inspired from the dead WarCraft Adventures storyline and characters, who were all made by employees of old school Blizzard who have since left the company. All three of Diablo's main designers and artists have all since left, and Diablo II's story was largely Bill Roper's. StarCraft's story was also mainly drawn from James Phinney's involvement.--Grid 01:02, 20 November 2006 (EST)

If Metzen had "very little involvement with the storylines before Warcraft III" then how come he has a sole credit under "Story & Design" in the credits section for Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness in my Warcraft II (Battlenet Edition) game manual? He's also listed as "Storyline Consultant" besides Bill Roper in the Beyond the Dark Portal credits. In the Diablo manual he is listed under "Script & Story" next to Eric Schaefer, Eric Sexton and Bill Roper. In the Diablo II manual he has the sole credit for "Story Concept and Script Editor". I'm not going to argue that other people had their hand in the storylines, or that they did even more then Metzen (especially in Diablo I) but "very little involvement" is just not true. --Foogray 04:53, 20 November 2006 (EST)

Touché, Foogray. Zexx, Warcraft III wasn't based on Warcraft Adventures, it was the sequel to Warcraft Adventures, which was never made but faithfully recorded in Lord of the Clans.--Ragestorm 09:50, 20 November 2006 (EST)

If you really want to know, he's around 32-36 years old cause he was in his early or mid-20's when he started working on Warcraft which was several years ago *I think close to 10 years but I'm not sure*. Genova 19:03, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Dispatch Commander Metz

The NPC character Dispatch Commander Metz in the Eastern Plaguelands bares a striking resemblance to Chriz Metzen and his name seems an obvious play on his, would this be worth noting in the article? -Azkera 19:04 02/11/08
