Timing

In the aritcle it is written:

"...When the family manor was hit with a surprise bandit raid while much of the house guard was out fighting the Horde, Yernim hid the artifacts in the kitchen (...) Prince Liam, grandfather of Galen Trollbane, was so impressed with his servant’s ingenuity that he appointed him Caretaker of Artifacts with a staff of two, and commanded the young servant to come up with a better plan to protect the artifacts...".

How is that possible that the guards were fighting the Horde and Prince Liam was in charge? I mean, during the coming of the Horde wasn't Thoras the ruler of Stromgarde? --N'Nanz (talk) 10:43, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

In your quote I only read that Liam (then king), father of Thoras (then child), asked his servant to hide artifacts from a bandit raid. The Horde is not mentionned here.

Awe well...

For what I know on Azeroth, no prince becomes king without the king dead.

So either Liam retired before his death and then he was still alive durig the Second War (or at least its beginning) and all is ok.

Either it's like the other realms (azeroth, silvermoon, alterac) and then it's somehow a lore mistake.

Note that the time of Liam's death is not indicated anywhere.

Then I cite Trol'kalar page: "(...)The Trol'kalar image changed by also becoming a true emblem of power in that region, being rightly wielded only by the direct descendants of Lord Ignaeus as a symbol of rulership over the glorious Kingdom of Stromgarde.(...)" So that's like Thoras was King at the beginning of the Second War, he died times later and Thoras (then King) ended the Second War.

But something is more strange, the article says "Prince Liam". "Prince" is used when the father is still "King".

I hope it's only a gramatical mistake!

Yes. Imo he was alive at the beginning of the Second War, and did not survive it (either dead of age or war) and Thoras became king.

The point about "Prince Liam" was that (if it's correct) Thoras' Grandfather was the King at the begining of the Second War. But it must be a mistake and shall not be taken straight.

The fact is that Land of Conflict was realesed in 2004, and Tides of Darkness in 2007. Such a detail might have gone trought, and Thoras ended King of Stromgarde for the whole Second War.

Or Liam was alive, but retired from his duties (very less probable as most Princes get crowned when the actual King die, not before)

Perhaps I found: a source for Thoras being King? If not for the infobox of Thoras Trollbane he is never addressed as king in the article... The main title too is "Lord Thoras Trollbane", not king. --N'Nanz (talk) 17:47, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Thoras is said "King of Stromgarde" in the first line of the article, and under occupation in the infobox.

This point seems to be another "lore hole" in the great Warcraft Lore.

Well IMO it seems like neither Thoras was truely king but only a sort of reagent. Look at the Trollbane family, not even a king, only Lords. Someway reminds me of the Stewards of Gondor. (Stromgarde aka Minas Tirith LOL) --N'Nanz (talk) 22:17, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

They were all king, it's been said in many books.

What we are missing is the timeline of Stromgarde's Throne Succesion.
