Revilgaz collects magical artifacts for defense. We see this in numerous quests over several expansions.

Revilgaz probably prevented the Cataclysm's tidal wave from crushing Booty Bay. In Vanilla, he obtained an artifact that had some control over the tides. In Cataclysm, an NPC explicitly says he is investigating Booty Bay because he thinks magic was involved in how the city managed to survive the tidal wave.Xanofar (talk) 05:48, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
