A High Elf Barbarian?

I can't imagine how a High Elf became a barbarian.

Barbarian is a "wild natural fighting style" more or less. It can be overly agressive and violent blood lusting fighter or it can be more or less a heroic warrior with a close affinit to the natural world, and animal like abilities, using land to their advantage. Barbarians generally prefer to be alone too.

In the rpg sense they probably gave her the barbarian class for the second reason. In textual explanation which appears to show some of her barbaric traits; we have,

"Alleria is a superb fighter who prefers solitude and only travels with others when forced to do so. She speaks infrequently and only in short sentences. She shows passion only where orcs are concerned, hunting them ruthlessly and without mercy... She views orcs as having no honor and therefore can be attacked in any way she sees fit. When forced into melee she uses her bow as a quartersaff..."
