Armory not updating

The Armory has not updated in a few weeks and in some cases it updates the guild members level but nothing else. Seems its broke.

Third party
Should third party alternatives be listed here? Isn't this like personal advertising? It's one thing to link to thottbot, which is 'reputable', but to link to Joe Blow's site... is that the right thing to do? --Bane 08:27, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

- Okay, well... I had removed Frals. He put it back. The site is still hopelessly broke with some php error. The signature maker says it doesn't work on IE7, which more and more people are probably using (Yeah, yeah, FF rules, IE sux, we get it). And the 'quick armory' seems broken as well. 3 out of 3 sites horribly broken. I'd remove all three links, but since Frals added his back, it would probably just start an edit war. Linking to broken third party shit that no one's ever heard of is asking for trouble. I'll make my own third party armory that asks for your password, and some poor schmuck will come to wowwiki, link to my phishing site, and I'll get his password. It's one thing to link to someone notable and trustworthy, like thott or wowhead. It's another to link to http://www.asdf.sc.ed/~hax/armory or whatever. --Bane 19:48, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- And another point... Even if the sites did work, how can they possibly help any of the problems with the official armory? It's not like any of these people are caching all the data. - armory-light.com is my website. Personally I can tell you, we're caching all the data on our own servers. We have transfer RX/TX of roughly 100GB per day. The database server alone requires around 1G of RAM and nearly 30GB of disk space. We also cache *all* of the 3D models on our own servers which adds another 20GB of storage and terabytes of bandwidth every month. Calling these websites "broken shit" is no way to treat serious web developers. Also, saying that no-one uses those websites is plain stupid. We have around 50.000 unique users a month and the other armory websites probably don't have less. Mizzrym (talk) 19:31, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Armory XML data
Is there any information about the XML data you can get from the armory and ways of using it? Would it be appropriate to update this page, or would an new page be more appropriate for that? Yarral 16:34, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think a new page would be more appropriate, since this is an informational page about the feature. A programmer's page would be far more technical and be useless to the average reader looking for "What is the armory?". --Curtwulf 14:04, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Wrath of the Lich King
A few external sites haven't been updated at all for WotLK, or are somewhere in that process, so I changed the list of links.
The following sites don't seem to have any WotLK data, and may be abandoned (and were removed);

Armory renewed
The Armory has been renewed with a 3D character viewer. The screenshot in the Article is therefore obsolete now. Hans Kamp (talk) 19:17, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
