Notes and trivia

  • Although Eskhandar can be very handy while farming, it can also be a danger for its owner; Eskhandar is a guardian pet and, as such, is automatically in aggressive mode.
  • In the credits of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, someone named Eskhandar is listed in the "Thanks to" section. This set may be named after them.
    • Alternatively, it's rumored among players that the set was named after a World of Warcraft programmer's cat, who was itself named after Alexander the Great (as "Eskandar" is the Persian form of "Alexander"). According to the rumor, the cat was born before Blizzard's founding and died during WoW's development, which led to a request that the item designers immortalize it in-game.[1]
