The Soul Pillar as seen from the Ring of Fates.
The Soul Pillar[1] (or soul stream)[2] is the name given to the massive stream of souls funneling through central Oribos—from the Crucible at the city's apex and through the Ring of Transference and Ring of Fates—down into the Maw, where it becomes Gorgoa: River of Souls.
Normally, jumping into the Soul Pillar from the Ring of Transference takes the player to Ve'nari's Refuge in the Maw. Jumping into the pillar while leveling via 
[60] The Threads of Fate sends you to Torghast, Tower of the Damned instead.
