This article is an information page for the Darrowmere realm (server)

The contents herein are entirely player made and in no way represent official World of Warcraft history or occurrences which are accurate for all realms. The information and events listed are of an independent nature and applied for roleplaying, fictional, speculative, or opinions from a limited playerbase only.

Darrowmere US (PvE) is named after Darrowmere Lake in the Western Plaguelands. The realm opened on Oct. 5, 2006 and is a Pacific time zone (UTC-8) realm. Like the other members of Battlegroup US Reckoning, the servers for Darrowmere are physically located in Los Angeles, USA. (See US realm list by datacenter.)

As of March 16, 2010 Darrowmere US was converted from a PvP to PvE designation.

Free realm transfers to Darrowmere took place from Jan. 22, 2008 to Jan. 29, 2008 from Mal'Ganis, Kel'Thuzad, Sargeras, Tichondrius, and Maelstrom.

Free realm transfers off Darrowmere took place from March 3, 2010 to April 6, 2010 to Alterac Mountains, Auchindoun, Malorne, and Vashj

General Information

Community

Darrowmere has a friendly, tight-knit feeling and a strong community. Many transfers to other realms find themselves coming back or rerolling on Darrowmere in order to continue to take part in the community they left behind. Darrowmere had long been among the lowest-population servers since, but starting with free realm transfers that took place in late Jan. 2008 the population has risen dramatically.

As of June 2008, the realm continues to have a low population but is no longer in the bottom grouping of realms by population. The realm has generally seen a Horde bias (perhaps as much as 2:1 or higher over Alliance), although this seems to have been evening out somewhat in recent months. Server queues are nonexistent on Darrowmere.

Before Darrowmere became a PVE realm, its community known for its large yet selective competitive atmosphere, especially on its forums where constant arguing between Etherimp and Myntala was commonplace.

PvP Activity

Like many PvP servers, Darrowmere has a strong PvP community, active in both battlegrounds and Arena. Queue times for battlegrounds are generally never longer than 10 minutes for Horde, more often under 5 minutes, and arena queue times are similar.

Large world PvP raids on opposing faction capitals are uncommon but not unheard of.

Wintergrasp on Darrowmere has seen plenty of combatants wage their battle for control, yet according to Archavon's journal the Horde has been much more effective in defending than the Alliance. The two sides are closer in wins for attacking the keep. This is most likely caused by the difference in population between the factions, and possibly a good indication that tenacity isn't nearly as effective for defending as it is for attacking.

Economy

The economy on Darrowmere is typical of smaller population servers. Levelling gear tends to be in short supply (and can be rather overpriced, being aimed primarily at twinks), while TBC gear is underpriced in comparison to more-populated servers, although there is a reasonable selection of it. Epic crafted items, extremely rare drops and recipes and profession crafting mats generally sell for lower than they would on higher population servers, probably due to lower demand, and rare drops often take relatively longer to sell.

Progression

As of November 4th, 2008 Àfterlife(Horde) is the first guild on Darrowmere to kill Kil'jaeden and finish off all Burning Crusade content.

As of March 10th, 2010 Smiles for Miles(Horde) is the first guild on Darrowmere to complete Alone in the Darkness.

Àfterlife is well known on the server for their "hardcore" raiding tactics, but the PvE raiding scene on Darrowmere is quickly becoming populated with more serious rading guilds since the release of 3.1, the patch which unveiled Ulduar. Many of the PvE raiding guilds on the server, however, typically favor casual raiding.

Current progression can be found at either Server:Darrowmere US/Progression or the Offical Darrowmere Forums
