The Rotten Fishbone is a bait item that can be fished up from open water in Val'sharah and from Mossgill Perch Schools, with an increased chance to be caught when using an [Arcane Lure]. It is also sold by Keeper Raynae for 25 
.
Using this item will discard fishbones on the ground. After some time, a Lorlathil Druid will arrive and cast a buff (The Cat's Meow) on the angler after taking the skeleton. The buff, which lasts for two minutes, increases the chance to catch either 
[Ancient Mossgill] or Ancient Mossgill, depending on whether the player has the 
[Underlight Angler].
