The Refuge of the Broken is a location in the Lower City of Shattrath. Its courtyard is frequented by Broken alcoholics who come to smoke and drink sour watered wine, and the air stinks of tobacco and sweat. Akama held several of his secret meetings with Maiev Shadowsong in a chamber in the Refuge. The last such meeting took place two months before the invasion of Outland, when he informed her of Kael'thas Sunstrider's abandonment of the Illidari and of Illidan's efforts to create an army of demon hunters.[1]
