Pet Journal

This little guy seems to like to hang out at the fringes of cataclysmic events. There is no evidence to suggest he has anything to do with the cause of these events, though - he's probably just an observer. Or maybe he just gets lost on his trek to other places.

Trivia

  • Rascal-Bot is an homage to the company Bad Robot Productions.[1] The pet is visually based on Bad Robot's titular mascot, and his abilities and Pet Journal description feature many references to the work of the company and its co-founder J. J. Abrams:
    • Assets relating to Rascal-Bot are internally named "Worse Robot", a more direct reference to the company's name.
    • Rascal-Bot carries a cup on his back that looks similar to a cup of Slusho!, a fictional soft drink brand that appears as an easter egg in many of Abrams' films and TV series and was used in a viral marketing campaign for the film Cloverfield.
    • [Reboot] is a reference to the 2009 reboot of the Star Trek franchise. [Phaser] is a reference to the famous phaser weapons from the same franchise.
    • [Lens Flare] is a reference to a film technique that is notoriously overused by Abrams in several of his films.
    • [Plot Twist] is named after the notorious number of plot twists in the TV series Lost, while its effect of surprising the enemy with polar bears refers to the surprise appearance of an out-of-place polar bear in the series' pilot episode.
    • [Armageddon] is a reference to the 1998 film Armageddon, which was co-written by Abrams.
    • [Amber Prison] is a reference to the Amber substance from the TV series Fringe.
    • The mentions of "fringes" and "observer" in the Pet Journal description are references to Fringe and the Observers from the same series, respectively.
    • The mention of "gets lost on his trek" references both Lost and Star Trek.
  • Rascal-Bot's model uses the same animation skeleton as male goblins.
  • The Abducted Vaultbots and Armored Vaultbot on Mechagon Island use a modified version of Rascal-Bot's model.

Patch changes
