Phylactery
A phylactery is a container of a lich's soul. They appear (albeit often fake) when a lich is killed.
Mogu Shadow Ritualists also use phylacteries. They resemble their Burial Urns.
Like with regular liches, troll liches use phylacteries for their souls as well.
Lich phylacteries
Liches bind their souls to a phylactery and then use the phylactery to generate a physical form; this process is why lich bodies look nothing like their mortal bodies, and also why you have to destroy a lich's phylactery to truly kill them.[1] As long as a lich's phylactery remains intact and undamaged, a destroyed lich can generate a new body and return to undeath.[2]

Phylactery of Faithfulness
The Phylactery of Faithfulness is a small box containing religious scripture affixed to a leather cord and tied around the forehead. Commonly used by night elves and members of the Silver Hand, use of this item has started to spread through the Horde faithful. The wearer is aware of any action that would adversely affect their alignment and their standing with their own faith, including magical effects. This helps them solve ethical problems, allowing them to gain information prior to taking the action or associating themselves with the item if they takes a moment to contemplate the act.[3]

Soulstones seem to function just like phylacteries. Warlocks can bind their souls into jewels (an object) and revive themselves when their body dies. The only way to permanently kill a warlock with a soulstone is to destroy the soulstone.[4]
