Nightshades are known to live in the Twisting Nether.

In the Twisting Nether, three types of nightshades are known: nightcrawler nightshades, nightwalker nightshades, and nightwing nightshades. Nightcrawlers often travel in pairs, nightwalkers travel in gangs, and nightwings travel in flocks.

In Manual of Monsters Appendix Three, the Nightshades are given a description, however, the validity of the source is disputed.
