Nashal was a vrykul. A statue of him called Nashal the Watcher is situated at Nashal's Watch in Stormheim.^[42, 35]

Notes

• The Cove of Nashal is named after him.
• Nashal's name is similar to the area Arauk-Nashal shown on maps of the Broken Isles in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Additionally, geographic assets for Stormheim are stored in a folder called "araknashal" in World of Warcraft's files, implying that Stormheim was originally going to be called that.
• Jimmy Lo's concept art for the zone include the following about its statue: "Ancient Vrykul statues remind inhabitants of great gods that once roamed the lands. In the backdrop looms an ancient Vrykul statue, looking over those that pass. Perhaps an ancient who formed the fjords with its might hammer long ago."
