Mote of Darkness can be obtained from the Shadowy Figure, who will randomly spawn while killing mobs after obtaining a  [Spent Voidcore].

Combining it with the Spent Voidcore will create a  [Charged Voidcore].

Notes

The Shadowy Figure can spawn while killing any mobs, at any location in the world, though they need to be close to your level.
