Inspiration
- The lamia is a female, child-eating daemon in Greek mythology. The Warcraft lamia may specifically be inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons version of the lamia, which is typically depicted with the torso and head of a human female and the lower body of a lion.
- They may also be inspired by the Liontaur from the Quest for Glory series of games or the Lynel from the The Legend of Zelda series.
