Janus the Dragonslayer

Hunter of myth and legend, Janus travelled their world in search of the greatest predators she knew of: dragons.

Many wyrms were slain, some good, some evil. But while her cause was just, her method was not.

Her pride in her renown ultimately led to her doom. Her arrogance, to Revendreth's door.

Thus the hunter will become the hunted, until repentance is assured.

Notes

  • During development, her sinstone read: Hunter of myth and legend, Janus travelled their world in search of the greatest predators she knew of: dragons. Many wyrms were slain, some good, some evil. In her many journeys and hunts, Janus learned of a prophecy that the cataclysm of her world would come at the hands of a great black dragon. She searched the globe for this creature, making it her life's endeavor. And while her cause was just, her methods were not, and she ultimately failed to defeat this beast when she found him upon his hiding place within the Isles, where no mortal dare tread.
  • The sinstone may still be referring to an Azerothian vrykul, perhaps of the Dragonflayer clan.

Speculation

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

Janus may be the Dragonhunter mentioned in the  [Legends of the Four Hammers]. Like Janus, the Dragonhunter was a legendary female hunter, most likely a vrykul, who slayed dragons for righteous reasons but whose life ended on a sad note.
