Improved Fire Blast is a mage talent increases the critical strike chance of the [Fire Blast] spell and increases its range.

Notes

As [Fire Blast]'s default range is 30 yards and the default range of most of the other mage spells is 40 yards, one rank is often taken to give a 35 yard working range.
This talent is most useful when used in conjunction with [Impact].

Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Redesigned. Now increases the critical strike chance of your Fire Blast spell by 4/8% and increases its range by 5/10 yards, but no longer reduces the cooldown.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Improved Fire Blast moved to tier 1 and reduced to 2 ranks, reducing the cooldown by 1/2 seconds.
Patch 1.11.0 (2006-06-19): Reduced to 3 ranks, down from 5 ranks.
