Places a hidden land mine at a target point. Enemy units that move near the land mine will activate the mine, destroying the mine and causing area of effect damage to nearby units.

Arthas finds four of these in Under the Burning Sky, chapter 8 of the Warcraft III undead campaign, Path of the Damned.

Tyrande can find two of these in Brothers in Blood, chapter 5 of the night elf campaign, Eternity's End.

Tyrande and Furion can find one, and buy these from a Goblin Merchant in Twilight of the Gods, chapter 7 of the that campaign.

Kael, Lady Vashj and Illidan can find two in Gates of the Abyss, chapter 5 of the Frozen Throne alliance campaign, Curse of the Blood Elves.

The goblin land mine combines a gunpowder bomb with the fiendish surprise of invisibility. Once placed and activated, the mine sits quietly until an enemy approaches and triggers a ward placed upon the bomb. The ward ignites the gunpowder, producing a devastating explosion. Invisibility and glyph of warding are incorporated when crafting the mines.[1]

Patch changes

  • WC3RoC-logo.png Patch 1.03 (2002-10-09): Fixed an issue with rooted Ancients that would cause them to trigger Goblin Land Mines.
  • WC3RoC-logo.png Patch 1.02 (2002-08-16): No longer drops in multiplayer games.
