Fundamental Observation can drop from dungeon, raid, world bosses, rare elites on the Broken Isles and Argus, and Commanders at Invasion Points. The item is also found in world quest caches, PvP strongboxes, Mythic+ weekly caches, and  [Blingtron 6000 Gift Package]. Lastly, it can also be discovered by using a Relinquished token purchased from Thaumaturge Vashreen.

• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Level squish.
  
• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Item level squish.
  
• Patch 7.1.5 (2017-01-10): [Zen Meditation] is no longer cancelled when you move or when you are hit by a melee attack, and reduces the cooldown of Zen Meditation by 50%.
  
• Hotfix (2016-11-14): All Legion Legendary items have had their item level increased by 15. This change will be applied retroactively.
  
• Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Added.
