Hello folks, we left wikia too, and we are interested in what you have done about wikia taking your content without attribution.

  1. Has non-attribution been a problem?
  2. If non-attribution has been a problem how have you dealt with it?
  3. Have you considered making all new material copyrighted?

Do you know any other previous wikia sites which are having similar problems. Shoutwiki and Anti-wikia Alliance's webpage has been down for a month, so we are unable to collaborate there.

Thanks,

Indefinitely blocked former bureaucrat on wikia. --Anno1403 (talk) 03:33, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

We've successfully asked Wikia to remove non-attributed content. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 03:37, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
thank you so much Pcj, it is always a pleasure to work with you, you have helped me out so many items in the past. It is a shame we are no longer working in the same network of websites. Sannse changed the subject here: http://deadrising.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:JoePlay#Stolen_images so we are striving to be 100% correct attribution at this very moment so there is no changing the subject by wikia. May I ask how you went about asking wikia to remove the unattributed images? Thank you. Anno1403 (talk) 03:43, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure how you copied the content off Wikia, but if you did it like we did, what Sannse is saying is bullshit. Content does not belong to Wikia, they are simply hosting it - it belongs to the original authors. Unlike what she says, you can simply reference author's pseudonyms (as seen in part 4(c) of the legal code. You also probably want a copyrights page and copyright policy. Also remember any original content which is on the wiki is indeed copyrighted to the original author, they are simply licensing others to edit and use it. I am not a lawyer, so take this for what it's worth. Wowpedia is also in a unique position to demand licensing since we have official fan-site status and WoWWiki does not. With that being said, please don't cite me. I'm not really interested in dealing with Wikia anymore. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 12:21, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
I dont blame you for not wanting to deal with wikia anymore :) I had one copyright class in law school :/ Need to bone up I guess. I won't quote you. Thank you so much for your time. Best wishes with the site. If there is anything I can help you with, please dont hesitate to ask. Anno1403 (talk) 13:27, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
