As a lore junkie, I'e kind of taken a step back with Cataclysm. Many races popped up with little explanation while others outright conflicted the lore (Stone Troggs), a few even disappeared outright (Skardyn). But one thing did stick out to me and that's the Legacy of the Masters, the short story that talks of a council of warlocks that are out to steal the power of the gods. It gives more insight into lore than it intended. A human was present at the death of Illidan. An orc helped kill Ragnaros. The blood elf was still corrupted by Cho'Gall. A worgen had been struck mute at the Hour of Twilight. The other two...who knows? My point is, this tells us that Illidan and Deathwing were killed by the Alliance, Ragnaros and Cho'Gall by the Horde. Thoughts?

I think that's a pretty big inference, because it ignores the possibility of mixed groups. All it tells us is that those individuals were there; it doesn't tell us anything about who else was present. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:40, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

That may have been possible for the death of Illidan, but the other three were killed during an active war between the Horde and Alliance. A mixed group seems to be the longer stretch, seeing that there is no evidence present to that claim. Another official short story about the Wrath Gate gives credit to the Horde for Azjol'Nerub and the Alliance for Naxxramas. Blacktouch (talk) 15:35, 3 May 2012 (UTC) --Blacktouch

It gives credit to the Horde for the Horde quests against the forces of Azjol-Nerub, and to the Alliance for the Alliance quests against the forces of Naxxramas, i.e. their respective quest chains leading up to the Wrathgate. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:12, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Well. To me it comes down to whoever has more reason to kill the boss. Such as Alliance = Onyxia and Horde = Nefarian/Rend. Also keep in mind we saw Horde and Alliance fighting Deathwing in game. ...I'm confused, where is everyone seeing this stuff? --IconSmall Deathwing.gif Joshmaul, Loremaster of Chaos (Leave a Message) 04:35, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Legacy of the Masters in-game book. The wowpedia page is  [Legacy of the Masters (Part 1)], but people are too busy using that as a reference to actually create it. — foxlit (talk) 00:14, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
