With all this talk of the fall of the Lich King and his replacement when he is dead brings up an interesting topic of discussion. What exactly will happen to the misguided ruiner of Draenor when the Arthas the Lich King is overthrown? His exact status after Arthas: Rise of the Lich King was left rather ambiguous in the first place and his place in the Warcraft universe was downsized following the event of Warcaft 2. Post your theories on what will happen to Ner'zhul after Icecrown Citadel and if you think he could possibly play a role in future games or lore in general.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 00:53, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I'm not so sure. Arthas definitely became the dominant personality, but I think Ner'zhul's still in there somewhere. Perhaps we'll see him during the Lich King fight in Icecrown. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 01:01, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I thought Arthas and Ner'zhul are FUSED together. I don't think Arthas is trying to destroy him or anything. Twinkiman89 (talk) 18:35, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I agree that they were fused together because Arthas said at the end of Frozen Throne "Now we are One.". Bbut in the prologue and epilogue of "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King" novel, the spirits of Arthas and Ner'zul (while they were asleep before the War for Northrend began) were seperate within The Lich King, which culminates with Arthas's spirit destroying the spirit of Ner'zul (after destroying his remaining humanity, or at least we are lead to believe - I'm not wanting to get into a heated discussion on this point), and then the War for Northrend beginning. That book really gives a good insight into many things that Arthas did, with his thoughts on those matters (the main one that sticks in my mind is when he says that he feels no remorse or pity for the deaths in Stratholme when first becoming a Death Knight, a voice in his mind that is not the Lich King's tells him that he is a liar.).
