Shouldn't Wowwiki add a spoiler guideline/policy? Spoiler warnings should, in my opinion, in general only be applied to articles regarding specific official Warcraft media such as the games, the novels and the comic books. I think this would make sense. For instance, if you are visiting the article regarding the novel Arthas you might just want to get a hunch of the storyline of the novel, but you probably don't want mayor plot twists to be revealed. However, if you are visiting the Arthas article, you probably wish to get as much official information as possible regarding Arthas background story.

I think we do leave out major plot information for new releases (of books) out of the wiki for about two weeks. I thought this was codified somewhere, but if it isn't I'll probably add that to the writing policy since it's been grandfathered in. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 12:33, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
Why only two weeks? I'm sure not everyone has read the novel just two weeks after it's initial release! Alltough some of the most crucial events that occur in the Expanded Universe content already are hinted in World of Warcraft, I see no reason why we should unfold even more plot information in the articles regarding official Warcraft Expanded Universe media. --Frejh (talk) 15:46, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
This site is basically an encyclopedia, if you don't want to know everything about a book don't read its article. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 16:28, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
Are we compelled to reveal major plot twist in every article just because WoWwiki basically is an encyclopedia? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Frejh (talk · contr).
No, editors aren't compelled to add things at all. Just don't be expecting to have information withheld from you. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 18:43, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
We had some pages discussing what a spoiler is and some attempts at a spoiler policy in the past, but most of those pages got deleted (not for any good reason that I can tell). Since there was nobody pushing for a spoiler policy, the pages and subject never really got resurrected. --Gengar orange 22x22.pngBeware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 10:16 PM PST 3 Oct 2009
