It seems that, starting with WotLK, when an NPC appears in multiple places a separate page is created for each appearance. I, personally, would prefer to condense them all into a single page, excepting perhaps when this would make the page extremely long (i.e. the Lich King). Right now, however, most NPCs with multiple appearances either have very little information on one page and a lot on the other (Bolvar Fordragon vs. Bolvar Fordragon (Dragonblight)) or have very little information on both pages (Niby the Almighty vs Niby the Almighty (Icecrown)). It's also very inconsistent, as some NPCs don't have split pages and some with several appearances have some split pages and some that aren't, and some NPCs have split pages but with the main page containing all of the information on the split page. Again, my vote is to condense them all, with exceptions provided for those pages that would be extra long. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 00:30, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

I asked a question about this some time ago at WoWWiki_talk:Village_pump/Archive32#NPCs appearing in multiple zones. One suggestion was that the different pages are warranted when there need to be separate tooltips, though I didn't quite get what necessitates different tooltips. I too would like everything on one page, and if some pages would be too long, individual sections can get their own pages (whether the section is about a particular appearance of the NPC, or part of its history, etc.). -- Harveydrone 19:25, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
