Forum:Regarding user-made dungeon tags

A conversation I had with Coobra got me to thinking. Ever since Wrath of the Lich King started showing separate dungeon difficulties (10 and 25, heroic 10 and 25, and now the Raid Finder as a separate difficulty for Dragon Soul), the dungeon tags have indeed started to go a little bonkers. Yeah, I went with the separate ones myself - but as Coobra pointed out, trying to keep track of all of them just makes your page bigger if you end up doing all of them.
At this point, would it be a good idea to just consolidate all of the current dungeon templates into "normal" and "heroic", regardless of how many people you did them with? And should the templates reflect whether it was done on heroic or not? The initial template for DS - which I split into bits based on the group size and difficulty (and included the raid finder) just said "Dragon Soul", no real indicator of those things. Or is there a possibility that the template setup could be changed so that it's one template - for example, "User DS" - but they can be messed with a bit, like is done to allow for character names, to indicate group size and difficulty? --

- I'm loath to tell people what they can and can't put on their user page, as long as it's legal, but all the redundant templates should probably be parameters to one template than many different templates (but then I'm not really a fan of the user boxes anyway). --Pcj (T•C) 02:24, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- That's funny you mention that Joshmaul.. when heroic modes first started coming out, I attempted to make the templates with parameters rather than separate ones for each, but was shot down and they were reverted to having no parameters and separate ones made. lol
