As you are all aware, there's an issue going on with Red Shirt Guy. I don't want to accuse anyone of anything so this message is just facts of what's going on.
So, there was a discussion with MMWQ and me. At the end of it, he posted a a picture and said it was from Red Shirt Guy correcting his Twitter posts. The circumstances were all odd and fishy for me because while I mentioned the discussed topic of Warbringers / Azshara and Red Shirt Guy, I didn't say from what site I got the information (but if I may, quick question, why would you, MMWQ, archive the Shield discussion almost immediately after? We archive posts when they are long inactive...). And it was not Twitter, but his Blizzplanet article, so I reached out to Red Shirt Guy. He stated that the picture is not his nor he has ever seen it. Then I asked MMWQ to provide a source where the picture was posted and he uploaded a screenshot of Discord with, supposedly, Red Shirt Guy, and posted it on his talk page. I immediately contacted RSG again, and he said that the screenshot is a fake. He even sent me his original Discord post; what was edited was the text and the date).
Honestly, I thought that MMWQ posted the screenshot from his Discord... but, supposedly, if I understand this one correctly, it has been around for a while and was posted on Reddit and MMO-Champion before MMWQ posted it here, despite the fact that it was uploaded on imgur just yesterday. Could you, MMWQ, show us where exactly it was posted on Reddit and MMO-c, preferably no pictures, but links. - Wow. First, I literally always archive discussions right after they are over, this is easily verifiable by checking the talk history. You say you are not pointing fingers but you clearly are.. and you are doing it by reaching. Especially when I literally wrote on your talk page as soon as I heard about the fake thing going on, so suggesting that I archived my talk page to hide the discussion when I was the one to re-open it is a bit silly.
- Second, I have merely linked the screenshots, which can be found on other websites already, as I was told at least. I made that clear on Slack (if you bothered to check the Slack every once in a while), and even told Red Shirt Guy before all this.
- So as far as I understand, it just seems to be a matter of some fake pics that were linked here and there on the Internet and which ended up in our (Mordecay and me) personal discussion, and were never used anywhere else on Wowpedia. Despite all my sympathy for Red Shirt Guy, this is a personal problem affecting him (it is not the first time he was impersonated), and has no business on Wowpedia. -- MyMindWontQuiet 12:45, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
