Hi. The wiki I edit is moving away from wikia too, but we are having a problem importing the images from wikia. Wikix (the tool we're using) replaced all of the image description pages with "Importing image file", which also means it uncategorized most of the images in the wiki. I noticed that you guys managed to import all images without this problem - so my question is, what did you guys use ? Master Bigode (talk) 15:26, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't know the specific details, but I think Wowpedia used a WoWWiki database dump and used that for the import, but imported everything at once (not text and images separately). It sounds like you're using something to import images only. Someone here may be able to help you. From reading a little about Wikix, it sounds like it is a somewhat limited tool and really is only intended to import images and not any metadata.
