Hello! I was hoping to get some insight on this matter. About a couple of weeks ago now I think it was, just about every single image on Wowpedia has broken, in terms of size. Now, they are all far larger than before, and look incredibly clumsy. I despise how large they have become, and I think it looks terrible. The strangest part is that, when I login to my account and then view a page, all of the images return to the proper sizes that they were before they enlarged.

This has led me to believe that something has gone wrong on the end of the Wowpedia developers. What is going on here, exactly, and will there be any foreseeable fix? When people view my pages, I don't want them to see these over sized images all over the place, making it look ugly, as it looks far better when it is it's normal size, smaller size. If I can get a notification over what is going on here, then that would be fantastic.

Anybody else notice this change, as well? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lacco (talk · contr).

I have not noticed this since I'm always logged in. The recent update seems to have cause quite a few issues though. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:45, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
So I logged out and I do see the difference. I wouldn't say that its terrible, though it might depend on the articles. Interesting. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:56, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Could you take a screenshot and post it? I'm looking around while logged out in another browser and not seeing it. Oh, never mind. I see it. Raising the issue with ops. --k_d3 03:56, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
So the default thumb size got changed to 300px. We're going to have to do a big pass on articles to see how things work for the new default. You may want to update your preferences (files section) to the new default.
One thing we should be doing for potrait-oriented images like the example image is to use |upright. I made that change just for reference. --k_d3 07:08, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
So what is the difference between using |upright and |<number>px? Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:04, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
The |#px forces a fixed size. |upright still lets images scale to whatever the user pref is (and also on mobile). --k_d3 04:45, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
