Hello Wowpedia community,

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you for the impressive work you've done in making this wiki and keeping it updated. I have, as many of you, a huge passion for the Warcraft universe and lore. I've been referring to Wowpedia for quite a while now as the number one website for detailed information on Warcraft lore, and have read many of the articles with an unquenchable thirst for further knowledge. I've never been disappointed.

Secondly, I'm French. As a student in foreign languages I have absolutely no problem reading or understanding English (which may not be true when it comes down to writing in English, so please forgive me for any mistakes or awkward sentences), which is why I've been able to fully enjoy all the content on Wowpedia. However, I know that many of my fellow French co-players and lore lovers have more trouble reading texts in English. So here is the point of this thread: I am currently studying translation (master's degree in translation) here in France, and I truly LOVE translating. I am suggesting you to start a French section on Wowpedia, for which I am very willing to translate articles that are already on the site. Of course I do realize that it is a colossal amount of work, and that it will take quite a while to get some of it done, but I am nevertheless willing to give it a shot. I have some experience in video game-related translation, as I have done an internship in a localization agency in Paris (Evocati, those who translated Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, as well as WoW in beta, before Blizzard set up its own translation department). I also have an extensive knowledge of the Warcraft lore. And I do love translating, but I might already have said that.

So here it is, please let me know if anyone thinks it's a good idead.

Cheers! --Ayléide (talk) 13:48, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

We'll get you running with a French translation if you want to take the lead on it. Let me know. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 14:16, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
