I've recently made a few tables to get a good sence of which abilities I do and don't use as a druid depending on the spec. While doing so, I noticed several odities in how articles refering to feral druid abilities are named. For Exemple, Skull Bash is devided into 2 spells, Skull Bash (Cat Form) and Skull Bash (Bear Form). Wowpedia will fail to find those.

[Skull Bash] [Skull Bash]

It will however find Skull Bash (Cat)

Skull Bash (Cat)Skull Bash (Bear)

Good old google found them very quickly for me. To limit confusion, I beleive theses abilities should be listed under the exact name used in game. Perhaps redirects could be created for those articles that fail to name them properly. (Cat) and (Bear) are the old way of naming Cat Form and Bear Form Abilities while (Cat Form) and (Bear Form) is the new one. --Enalung (talk) 15:48, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Moved the articles to the proper names. Splitting [Mangle] is also on a to-do list. --g0urra[T҂C] 16:01, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I moved the tables in question from my talk to Druid_hotkeys. It occured to me that they suited the general theme of the page even though they didn't follow the proposed format. I do beleive they are somewhat cleaner then the proposed format and give a quicker glance at weather an ability is useful or not.

There are a few other druid abilities which could use review. Some of them currently use a desambyguation page when there really shouldn't be need for that if they were properly listed using the same name as the UI. Perhaps a solution to that would be to make it a convention to list spells under the same name as the UI.

  • [Claw] should be Claw (Cat Form)
  • [Dash] should be Dash (Cat Form)
  • Feral_Charge_-_Bear should be Feral Charge (Bear Form)
  • Feral_Charge_-_Cat should be Feral Charge (Cat Form)
  • [Enrage] should be Enrage (Bear Form)
  • [Faerie Fire (Feral)] should be (will need to check very quickly.... will edit)
  • Tree of Life (druid ability) which has 2 articles could be Tree of Life (Shapeshift) which is the name used by the UI.
  • [Starfall] has 2 articles, what's up with that?

Edit: They actualy list properly because I went through the trouble of finding the correct link.

This is due to Blizzard often changing how they want to name the abilities... at first they didn't Cat Form or Bear Form in the names for some so we were forced to do the (Cat) and (Bear) ourselves to show the difference, then they added them over time... and of course they also used the "- Cat" and "- Bear" before changing those as well. It just so happens no one here ever got around to moving them to their correct locations. You're welcome to use the move feature at any point to improve wowpedia on any articles you see with the same issue of not being up to date with the correct names. Additional note: The names should represent how they are seen in game though. So if the ability Claw for example is shown as "Claw" then the correct location would be "Claw", however, since Claw fits 3 abilities for the Druid, hunter pet, and death knight pet it has to be distinguished into a standard which has been setup already and that is (<class> ability). So the new correct location would be "Claw (druid ability)". Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 07:42, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
