Hey all. Before I reach out to Curse, I wanted to post the question publicly first to see the level of (dis)interest on enabling image lightboxes on Wowpedia. Lightboxes are used to display images on the article you're looking at, rather than going to the file properties page when clicking on an image.

I think, way back when, we opted out of Lightboxes, but at this point we should revisit that decision and consider enabling their use. Most of our sister Gamepedia wikis have Lightboxes enabled, so it should be a configuration switch to turn them on for us.

Is anyone opposed to turning on lightboxes? It's a major ease-of-use win, as most users don't care about the technical details of the image, they just want to see it bigger.

I'll reach out to Gamepedia in a week if nobody's opposed. --k_d3 20:24, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Looking around at other Gamerpedia wikis, I didn't actually find others where Lightboxes was enabled, per default at least. If it works like on wikipedia, then it seems fine to me. On wikipedia there is a more info button, for the regular info, so that shouldn't be an issue either. PeterWind (talk) 20:48, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
