Strategy

  • In each of the racial cities or starting towns you'll find a merchant that sells mounts for that race. There are three normal land mounts available at level 40, and three swift land mounts available at level 60.
  • To purchase mounts for other races of your faction, you will need to gain reputation with that race's capital city to exalted. If you're exalted with all your home cities, and you have the money, you can acquire 29 (Horde) or 32 (Alliance) mounts this way.
  • When you reach level 70, you can purchase up to seven flying mounts in Shadowmoon Valley.
  • You can purchase six mounts from the PvP honor system.
  • High-level tailors can build carpet mounts.
  • Engineers can build a ground and two flying mounts.
  • Warlocks and Paladins get a summonable mount at level 20 and another at 40. Death Knights get a summonable mount at level 55.
  • Mei Francis in Dalaran sells four mounts.
