Illidan?
I had also assumed this was Malfurion because of the antlers. However, David Fried told me he thinks this is actually Illidan, back when he was still a satyr and before he was given Uther's blindfold. Maybe antlers were something originally meant for all male night elves? The face looks a lot more like official art of Illidan to this day than any depiction of Malfurion. --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 22:12, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

- Unfortunately just my own account from messaging him. I had asked if he could confirm it's Malfurion, and he told me he thought it looked more like an early incarnation of Illidan back when he was a satyr, though he wasn't positive. Satyr Illidan was apparently still supposed to look like a night elf, as Dave said: "Metzen liked to have relationships between the races... mostly from the elves. So High Elves, Trolls, and Satyrs were all supposed to originally come from the Night Elves. Thus Illidan was a twisted version of a Night Elf... the proto-satyr that spawned other satyrs... At least, that's what I recall him saying."
- I think this concept art would support antlers being something all night elf males were supposed to have isntead of just powerful druids. He also has leaves in his hair (or coming out of his skull?), just like the night elf in this render. --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 16:34, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

- I remember that. Still, we have no more definitive proof that this is Malfurion than we do for Illidan. And another point in favor of Illidan that I noticed is that he has Illidan's black haircut, while Malfurion's is blue and has a large beard. --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 03:05, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
