Description
Look, <name>. Venthyr have been throwing fancy courts for themselves ever since they were created.
It won't always be easy to impress them with our own court.
Don't worry, I've got a plan.
I've scheduled a rehearsal court for us to learn the ropes during a practice run.
You, me, Renathal, and a few socialites from the covenant who are eager to help us succeed.
Relax. It'll be fun!
Rewards
You will receive:

We're ready to prepare our first real Ember Court!
Notes
- Talking to Temel
Don't worry. We'll figure out how to host this court together. The party heralds!
I'm ready for the Ember Court rehearsal. [Begin Scenario]
What is the Ember Court?
- Venthyr have always used extravagant courts and decadent parties to impress potential allies and grow their influence across Revendreth.
- Prince Renathal is holding a court here in the Ember Ward, atop Sinfall to do just that: expand the influence of our covenant.
- By winning over the movers and shakers of Revendreth, and all of the Shadowlands, we will establish ourselves as the primary source of power in Revendreth.
- Of course, with so many different personalities attending our Ember Court, it will be difficult to keep them all happy.
- I want to ask something else.
Ember Court Rehersal
Preparing For Court
- Walk with Temel to the refreshments area.
- Walk with Temel to refreshments area
After you load into the scenario and approach Temel:
- Temel says: Candles to the patio! Chairs to refreshments! Lanterns to the stage!
- Court Groundskeeper says: You got it, boss.
Court Groundskeeper heads off. As you follow Temel:
- Temel says: There you are, Maw Walker!
- Temel says: I could use your help hosting this rehearsal for our Ember Court.
- Temel says: I've got every dredger working to make this place perfect for Prince Renathal.
- Temel says: But it's a mess! We've got to clean it up before we can hold a real court here.
- Temel says: Oh, I almost forgot to mention: I invited some of the covenant members up here as a trial run.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: You two take the south patrol. I'll deal with the civilians
- Temel says: Don't mind the socialites. We should focus on impressing the most important guests.
- Temel says: I'd feel better about this rehearsal court if the refreshments area was a bit cleaner.
Quick Clean Up
- Temel likes a Clear court, so clear some rubble for him. (timer: 2 minutes)
- Improve Temel's mood by cleaning rubble piles (4)
- Await the rehearsal's special guest
If the first objective is failed, then the next stage starts.
- Temel says: Help me out and clean up some of these rubble piles, will you?
As you clean up a rubble pile and subsequent piles:
- Temel says: It looks better already! I love a clean court.
- Temel says: Nice hustle, Maw Walker! Clean up the rest before our guests arrive.
- Temel says: Look at that scrubbing! You dredgers could learn a thing or two from the Maw Walker.
- Temel says: We'll clean up the rest later. Prince Renathal should be here soon with the special guest.
- Picky Stefan says: Prince Renathal is bringing a guest? Oh dear, I shall prepare a special refreshment.
- Temel says: If you've got any tea in that shack, Stefan, I'm sure our guest will appreciate it.
- Picky Stefan says: A gentleman of taste? I shall prepare a pot of my finest tea.
- Temel says: Good, good. He'll like that.
The First Guest
- Await the Ember Court's first guest
- Await the guest's arrival
- Temel says: Here comes Prince Renathal with our special guest!
- Prince Renathal says: I am impressed, Temel. You and the Maw Walker have already made vast improvements!
- Prince Renathal says: It seems the socialites and nobles are having a good time as well, even if our own Watchmaster is not.
- Prince Renathal winks at Watchmaster Boromod.
- Watchmaster Boromod bows.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: I serve where I am needed.
- Prince Renathal says: Theotar, you have always enjoyed the gaiety of social functions such as this.
- Prince Renathal says: What do you think? Are we ready to open the Ember Court to outsiders?
- Theotar says: Well, it is certainly a start, my dear Prince.
- Theotar says: But I must admit that those in the most influential circles are accustomed to more... formal affairs.
- Temel says: You want formal? We can do formal!
A Formal Fellow
- Theotar likes a Formal court, so offer him some tea.
- Pick up the formal teapot
- Improve Theotar's mood by pouring him a cup of tea
- Temel says: Maw Walker, please serve Theotar a cup of our most expensive tea.
- Theotar says: My dear Temel, how did you know that 'most expensive' is my favorite flavor?
Turn back to Stefan and click on Picky Stefan's Teapot. As you pick up the tea:
- Picky Stefan says: Serve the tea while it is still hot.
- Picky Stefan says: I shall prepare another pot in case it is needed.
As you serve the tea to Theotar:
- Theotar says: Thank you, Maw Walker. It is important to maintain proper etiquette in court, no matter where it is located.
- Theotar says: Everyone should have a cup of tea!
Different Tastes
- Not everyone prefers the court to be Formal.
- Offer Watchmaster Boromod a cup of tea
- Theotar says: Start with our gloomy Watchmaster. Surely, he will appreciate being included in the court formalities.
- Temel says: Maw Walker, please serve Theotar a cup of our most expensive tea.
- Temel says: I don't know, Theotar... Boromod doesn't seem big on formalities...
As you serve the tea to Watchmaster Boromod:
- Watchmaster Boromod says: Bah! I have no interest in the silly formalities of court.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: If you're trying to improve my mood, go duel one of my new recruits.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: A couple of fights would be a nice change from this formal affair.
Keep It Casual
- Watchmaster Boromod likes a Casual court. Start a fight to entertain him.
- Improve Watchmaster Boromod's mood by dueling
- Temel says: Not everyone likes the same things you do, Theotar. We need to tailor our court to each guest.
As you talk to a Sinfall Recruit and ask to duel:
- Challenge this guard to a duel. (+Casual)
- Sinfall Recruit says: Watchmaster Boromod approve this? Alright then...
Once you beat the recruit:
- Sinfall Recruit says: Still beats standing at attention all night.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: Now THAT was fun! Every court should have less tea and more fighting!
Ember Court Rehearsal
- No court lasts forever.
- Make your guests as happy as possible before the court closes! (timer: 5 minutes)
- Improve your guests' mood during the rehearsal
- (Optional) Do Formal activities to improve Theotar's mood
- (Optional) Do Casual activities to improve Watchmaster Boromod's mood
- (Optional) Do Clean activities to improve Temel's mood
- Theotar says: My dear Watchmaster, I must insist you are mistaken. I have attended the finest courts in all of Revendreth and--
- Temel says: The point is, Maw Walker, that everyone likes a different type of court.
- Temel says: Activities that make one guest happy may make another uncomfortable.
- Temel says: When there is direct conflict, like with Theotar and Watchmaster Boromod, you'll need to choose which guest you wish to focus your efforts on.
- Prince Renathal says: Enough lecturing, Temel. Let the Maw Walker enjoy the rehearsal!
- Temel says: Yes, yes, but do try to clean as you go. The dredgers made new messes.
Muckchuck passing by with a wheelbarrow:
- Muckchuck says: I like it better messy!
- Temel says: And that's why I didn't invite you, Muckchuck! Keep moving!
- Muckchuck grumbles as he pushes the wheelbarrow away.
- Prince Renathal says: I shall call you all up to the tribute stage in a few minutes for the closing ceremony.
As you continue cleaning:
- Prince Renathal says: What good, clean fun!
As you continue seving tea:
- Prince Renathal says: Clearly, I should have bought my formal coat.
Tribute
- Receive tribute from your guests, based on their current mood.
- Join Prince Renathal on the tribute stage
- Collect guests' tribute from your chest
Once the time is up and you head to the tribute stage:
- Prince Renathal says: Thank you all for attending the Ember Court!
- Prince Renathal yells: Thank you all for the wonderful contributions made to ensure this rehearsal was a success!
- Prince Renathal yells: Over time, this court will allow us to win over hearts and minds from across the entirety of the Shadowlands!
- Prince Renathal yells: I believe the Maw Walker should have the honor of receiving tribute at this inaugural court. He earned it.
- Watchmaster Boromod says: My duty is fulfilled.
- Theotar says: A wonderful, formal court! Gubbins and Tubbins simply must come to the next one!
- Temel says: Everything is so clean! The grounds will be ready in no time!
- Prince Renathal says: Of course, Temel. Begin coordinating the invitations to our first outside guests.
- Prince Renathal yells: The Ember Court is officially open!
Until Next Time
- Speak with Prince Renathal to leave the Ember Court.
- Speak with Prince Renathal to leave
