Nils Beerot, who invented the term.

Durnholde Syndrome, named after Durnholde Keep, is a strange phenomenon[1] which causes slaves and captives to grow an affinity for their captors after being locked up for too long.[2] This causes them to resist being freed from captivity, claiming that they love working for their captors and that they wouldn't know what to do in the outside world.[1] The term "Durnholde Syndrome" was coined by the Forsaken chief psylosopher Nils Beerot.[2]
