Bashiok (real name Micah Whipple), formerly known as Drysc,[1] was a Blizzard employee and Community Manager. He started out posting on the US World of Warcraft forums as Drysc before moving onto the Diablo 3 community, changing his forum poster name to Bashiok. He has since moved back to the WoW team, but kept his forum posting name as Bashiok.

He left Blizzard on July 31, 2015.[2] He announced the following Monday on Twitter that he now works for NCSoft as Senior Content Manager.[3]

Trivia

  • In the public test realm for patch 2.1.0, Drysc summoned 40-man raid bosses in Shattrath City.
  • A Draenei NPC in the Exodar's Crystal Hall is named after Drysc.
  • There is also a mob called Bashiok, which drops  [Spirit of Bashiok].
  • He is a large fan of both the bands Tool and The Mars Volta.
  • The Whipple family and their estate were presumably named after him.
