Dragon's Spine
The Dragon's Spine is a cavern within Neltharion's Lair. Here, surrounded by lava, rest the bones of black dragons who were killed in the throes of Deathwing's fury. They radiate echoes of the black dragonflight's power, making the Dragon's Spine the most potent area of the lair.[1]
The champion of Azeroth came here with Spiritwalker Ebonhorn to investigate a strange concentration of dragon magic. Their search was blocked by a group of earth elementals who'd been driven into a frenzy by the magical power, along with Ma'haat the Indomitable, who declared that the "essence" belonged to the earth.[2] After the champion and Ebonhorn challenged Ma'haat and defeated him, he relinquished the essence to them—a single Petrified Dragon Scale.
An exit leads to the Bartering Cave outside.
