Di Chen and the Desert was one of the pandaren legends told by Lorewalker Shuchun to Ziya and Druz.

History

Di Chen was the finest fighters of his time having the ability to best any monk who challenged him, slapping arrows out the air with ease, and even the mountains themselves were slight inconveniences for him that could be leapt over or kicked through. However Di Chen was bored out of his mind and in desperation for a challenge asked the desert witch Lui Ka to grant him a true challenge. Amused by his arrogance, the witch gave him his wish: he would fight the desert itself. Each grain of sand became a fierce warrior intent on Di Chen's death.

The battle would only end when Di Chen would admit that there were some challenges too difficult even for him. However it is said that Di Chen still fights to this day, showing that he has so far been able to do so.[1]
