A conjurer advising the kingdom's military.

Prior to the First War, conjurers were assigned to the royal court of Stormwind Keep. These court conjurers were not simple jesters and were expected to advise the throne of Wrynn on the matters of magic. In return for their services they were given many privileges, such as sumptuous lodgings and food fit for royalty.[1]

In the decades leading to the opening of the Dark Portal, the court conjurer of King Barathen was Nielas Aran.[2] His son Medivh himself was expected to be given the title of Apprentice Conjurer to the Court after attaining the Age of Ascension,[3] but his destiny instead led him to become the new Guardian of Tirisfal.

By the time of King Llane, the court counted two Conjurer-Lords known as Hugarin and Huglar at its service. These wizards, the most powerful of the realm, gave advice to the King himself.[4]

Notes

  • The court conjurers survived the war in the non-canonical human ending to Warcraft I, where they delighted the people of kingdom with a display of mystic sights and sounds while they were being treated to a feast of unequaled splendor.[5]
