Corporal Thund Splithoof was a tauren ghost quest giver located by the entrance to the Blasted Lands in the Swamp of Sorrows. He was only visible once players completed the Fallen Hero of the Horde's quest 
[57] The Stones That Bind Us.
The Fallen Hero redirected players to Thund who gave them a chest with the 
[Shard of the Splithooves] inside. There was a specific demand the player triggered with the Fallen Hero of Horde to "summon" Splithoof, directly opposite of the Hero (once the quest was completed).
It was speculated he was one of the men in the Fallen Hero of the Horde's group while venturing in the Blasted Lands and got killed.
Thund Splithoof was removed in Cataclysm. Although not used for anything, for those who had finished the questline he became summonable once again with Warlords of Draenor, along with his character model updated.
