Cora[1] was a draenei child and friend of Akama who lived in the Temple of Karabor. During the temple's fall to the Horde, Akama led Cora and other civilians to safety but was unable to save the girl's mother, who was cut down by the orcs. Cora was among the draenei refugees who subsequently fled into hiding in Zangarmarsh, where Akama and the others devolved into Broken.[2] At some point Akama seems to have been separated from the girl,[1] and her fate is unknown.

Trivia

  • The character of Cora was created to serve as an emotional throughline for Akama in the Black Temple trailer. Her name is derived from the Latin word cor, meaning "heart", with the inference that she is the "heart" of Akama. Her name is not mentioned in the trailer itself and was only publicly revealed 15 years later in the 2022 video Revisiting the Original Black Temple Trailer, in which cinematic director Terran Gregory discussed the making of the trailer.[1]
