Captain Shivers is a ghostly pirate captain who haunts the shores of Gilneas and serves as the "nemesis" to Tess Greymane in the Monster Hunt single-player experience in the The Witchwood expansion for Hearthstone.
Lately, Tess has been seen visiting the lonely, rocky shorelines of Gilneas. As the fog rolls in off the sea, she confronts spectral buccaneers whose unquiet spirits rise from the depths. Even those who know how formidable Tess can be fear for her safety during these nightly sojourns, and the spirits seem less spectral and more solid with each passing night.[1]
Upon confronting Shivers, Tess states that she thought him to be dead, and the captain replies that it was "the daughter o' the King" that killed him. However, Tess later says that she will finish what her father started, with Shivers stating that he'll claim his vengeance by making Tess part of his crew.
