Arietta was the daughter of Elyrion Fogsong and Ellaene. She was determined to become a Sentinel alongside her mother, but the two of them were killed in a battle. Elyrion blamed himself for their deaths since he failed to supply the battle with healing potions, and subsequently isolated himself to become a hermit.

Many years later, Elyrion befriended the Sentinel Keda Bloomblade, who instantly reminded him of Arietta.
