Ardogan was an Arathorian mage and an early ruler of the city of Dalaran.

Biography

A brilliant and eccentric mage, Ardogan was one of many immigrants who moved to the burgeoning trading outpost of Dalaran circa 2,700 BDP. He won the admiration of Dalaran's inhabitants and was elected its ruler. Under his leadership, Dalaran continued to expand in power until it evolved into an autonomous city-state. At this time, many of Arathor's magi were subject to suspicion and prejudice by the general population. Ardogan declared that Dalaran would be a haven where these magi could live free of prejudice.

Many sorcerers answered his call and built up Dalaran into a city of magic and learning, and Ardogan and the most powerful of the newcomers formed a magocracy to govern the city. Under their leadership, Dalaran prospered; however, the reckless use of magic also attracted demons from the Twisting Nether. This forced Dalaran's leaders to seek aid from the Convocation of Silvermoon, resulting in the creation of the Council of Tirisfal.
