Witness Illidan's Resilience at the Dreamgrove in Val'sharah.

Description

Much of Illidan's formative years were spent in Val'sharah, alongside his twin brother, Malfurion.

As young night elves, the twins vied for the affection of the young priestess, Tyrande, as they underwent the trials of the demi-god, Cenarius.

We must travel to the Dreamgrove now, where Illidan's true path would be forged.

Completion

Failure. Rejection. From that day, Illidan would be haunted by both. Ever undaunted, he would continue the search for his destiny. Another path would be found.

Notes

The Dreamgrove is at the northwest of Val'sharah. Do not go all the way there, especially if you're not a druid, as the Dreamgrove is the druid Class Hall and you will be teleported out.

Instead, stop just short of the entrance to the Dreamgrove proper, near the stream, when Xe'ra prompts you.

Xe'ra says: An ancient memory stirs. When you are prepared, call to me and together we will uncover a piece of Illidan's past.

Illidan after being told he wold no longer be thought by Cenarius.

Illidan, Malfurion and Tyrande are standing at the Dreamgrove, where the Seed of Ages normally is, in front of a projection of Cenarius.

Cenarius says: Illidan, your anger is misplaced. I have not insulted you.

Illidan Stormrage says: You have cast me out, Cenarius!

Cenarius says: No. You may remain here, but I will no longer be your teacher.

Cenarius says: If you wish to continue studying the wilds, you may do so with your brother.

Illidan Stormrage says: So...

Illidan Stormrage says: I must learn from... a NOVICE... instead of a MASTER?

Cenarius says: You must learn respect.

Cenarius says: Malfurion will become the first druid because he is a dedicated student. You... are NOT.

Cenarius says: To walk this path requires sacrifice, Illidan... Something you have yet to understand.

The projection of Cenarius disappears. Unmoving, Illidan stares at the space he was occupying.

Malfurion Stormrage says: Brother-

After the cutscene finishes:

Xe'ra says: Few have known such failure and rejection. Most would have given up, but Illidan would continue on, guided by the unseen hand of fate. His destiny lay elsewhere.
